2021.12.02 01:23 needsadvice_88 HELP! Current girlfriend (30 F) drunk kissed a guy at party a week or two later I left to move but said I would be back?

Me (31 M) and my current girlfriend (30 F) were "talking" for almost a year after breaking up last year. Earlier this year, when it seemed like our talks were not going anywhere and she was not happy with me, I left to go live in the South for 6 months to try to mature and live and my own and promised her the day I left that "I would be back in a few weeks and just need some time to myself". I told her I was moving out of the blue about a week and a half before I actually left. She was understandably very upset about this and emotional. We recently got back together and, about a month ago, I asked her if shed kissed anyone or been interested in anyone since I moved. She said no and got all red, to which I could tell she was lying. She then confessed that, very shortly after I moved, she got drunk at a party at her aunt's house and kissed one of her cousins friends. This event happened about 9-10 months ago now but I was still upset because I did come back for her approx. 2-3 weeks later in Ohio (where she lives). She told me it didnt mean anything and that it wasn't her proudest moment. Why do you think she did this? I am curious but I still feel upset that she moved on so fast.

2021.12.02 01:23 FlicksterTrickster Romance novels accurately portray the men women want to fuck, marry, and have babies with. Read one and tell me the how the red pill didn't nail it. Be sure to include the one(s) you've read in your reply, even if it's 50 Shades.

"Bodice rippers" as they also call them are what the more euphemistically named "romance novels" that women consume more hours of than men do video porn.
We know that that's what women want in a man because they literally pay for it. They don't even want men to buy it for them like lingerie or food or fancy presents. They'll willingly shell out their own hard earned money for it, well into their golden years.
In nearly all of the stories have women or are plain, ordinary, and whisked out of their humble drudgery of a life by a famous, powerful, tall, handsome man, who's literally an alpha/general/prince/king/captain, and "ravish her" against her fake protests. Often abandoning some lifelong friend who she was considering (beta bux), then marrying the prince, often bearing his children, and living happily ever after. Some dumb bullshit will happen in the story to assuage her guilt about monkey branching, and he'll be "happy".
I found a tv series I thought was a fantasy series. Turned out it was romance novel porn in video form. Exactly what I described played out. It's so solidly more romance porn than just fantasy I couldn't keep watching it. The cataclysmic magic was more believable than the luck (no shred of effort) that the Mary-Sue had. It's just like Lifetime/Oxygen/Hallmark movies, and daytime romance stories. (84% off readers are women)
This fantasy is literally what women masturbate to. Then they turn around and tell us to "be ourselves" or that it's personality that matters. They might even believe what they're saying. But it simply isn't true. "One-third of All Mass Market Fiction Books Sold Are Romance Novels." Looks like we found your porn addiction, ladies.
Why should we believe the red pill is wrong, when their actions, and the porn they consume in absurd quantities are in perfect agreement?

2021.12.02 01:23 Father-Son-HolyToast OP instantly regrets a glowing academic recommendation of a professional contact after seeing her post something disturbing on social media.

I am not the OP of this post. This post has been copied and pasted into this subreddit for the purposes of curating the best Reddit updates in one subreddit. In this case, the post and update appeared on the AskAManager blog, not on Reddit. I excluded Alison Green's responses here, but you can find the link to the OP, response included, below.
Mood spoiler: Odd and a little frustrating, but nothing distressing
**Original post (see letter #2 at the link)
I recently wrote a recommendation for someone for grad school that I am now doubting. I’m not sure what I should do about it. I felt confident in my recommendation until I saw her write a problematic post on her personal social media. She is currently a university professor and posted, “When my students call me PROFESSOR, I get a hard-on.” I was horrified. Judging by the comments in her post, I am in the minority. Only one commenter politely stated their discomfort with the statement. The professor’s response was defensive and over the top, and all the other commenters piled on as well, calling the uncomfortable one hateful names. I had recommended the professor for a mental health degree, and her post and response to the commenter makes me doubt she will be successful. I imagine she’ll be weeded out quickly if she can’t adjust her response to feedback. Am I making a bigger deal of this than what it is? If a doctor posted the same thing about their patients, I wouldn’t let them near me. What are your thoughts?
I wrote in asking what to do about possibly revoking a recommendation for a university professor in IT who wants to go back to school for counseling, and more specifically, sex therapy.
I took your advice and had a conversation with her about her problematic social media post. At first, she seemed to listen, and she even deleted the offending post. I was heartened. But, a few days later she sent me a message telling me I was small minded, judgmental, and the friendship is over. Interestingly, she unfriended me and every other woman we are both connected to, yet kept my husband as a friend on social media. So, I’ve seen her subsequent posts, which are going more and more off the rails. Examples:

  1. She changed her profile picture to her wearing lingerie with her legs spread at the camera.
  2. She went on a rant about how she is monogamous and polyamory is an “alternative lifestyle” she does not accept. (One commenter told her it was borderline hate speech, she did not like being called out and totally denied it.)
  3. She posted that she was done helping people. They don’t deserve her help.
  4. This is the worst one, she bragged about telling a suicidal woman to “sit down, and shut up,” for having the audacity to give her some life advice.
She has started school, so it is too late to revoke my recommendation. Going to her school with this information now feels retaliatory, even though I know it’s more complicated than that. I wish this conflict had more resolution, but so it goes. I don’t have the bandwidth to deal with it or her anymore. I’ve just been diagnosed with ADHD at 45 and need to focus on exploring treatment options, but that’s a whole letter. I am curious to hear from readers, though, how ADHD has affected them in the workplace.
Thank you again for your sound advice.

2021.12.02 01:23 Smooth_Yogurtcloset8 Is it possible to make circular sprites in Pygame?

I'm new to python and Pygame, I'm trying to recreate checkers, but I'm having trouble making circular sprites. Am I doing something wrong or is there another way to do it? it keeps showing up as a rectangle.
#checker object class
class Checker(pygame.sprite.Sprite):
def __init__(self, color, x, y, radius):
self.image = pygame.Surface((width, height))
self.color = color
self.x = x
self.y = y
self.radius = radius, self.color, (self.x, self.y), self.radius)
self.rect = self.image.get_rect(center = (x, y))
checker = Checker((255,255,255),30,30,2)
Checker_group = pygame.sprite.Group()
